24:1 Եւ թէ երբեք երբեք իջանել լինէր, շրջել զաւրացուցանել զաշակերտեալսն ճշմարտութեան հոգւով, «իրաց իրաց պիտոյից աւգտակարաց ամենայն եկեղեցեացն հասեալ յաւգնականութիւն՝ շնորհաւքն Աստուծոյ առանց յապաղելոյ, առանց իրիք զբաղելոյ, հանապազ իջանէր ի թիկունս դիպաց դիպաց պատահելոց, եւ վճարէր զաւրութեամբն Աստուծոյ:	24:1 And when from time to time he descended, he went around strengthening his pupils with the spirit of truth. He provided assistance in needful matters to all the churches by the grace of God without delay or other distraction. He continually gave support in all occurrences, acting by the power of God:
24:2 Եւ յորդորագոյնս եւ պարարտագոյնս եւ անփակ բերանով զվտակս վարդապետութեանն ի սիրտս լսողացն սերմանեալ ծաւալեցուցանէր. եւ զայս արարեալ զամենայն ժամանակս իւր՝ վասն անձին եւ վասն աշխարհի:	24:2 With unceasing mouth, he spread the abundant and fertile rivers of his teaching in the hearts of his listeners. This he did all his days, for himself and for the country:
24:3 Քանզի սովոր իսկ են ճշմարիտ վարդապետք՝ զանձանց առաքինութիւն կանոն աշակերտելոցն դնել. մանաւանդ յուշ առնելով զտէրունականն զմիոյն զմիայնոյն զիմաստնոյն Աստուծոյ. քանզի ասէ. Սկսաւ Յիսուս առնել եւ ուսուցանել:	24:3 For true teachers are accustomed to set their own virtue as a canon to their pupils, taking especial note of the saying concerning the Lord, the one and only wise God; for scripture says: “Jesus began to do and to teach:
24:4 Որոյ բազում անգամ առեալ զաշակերտսն ուրոյն, եւ աննիազական անձամբն աւրինակ կարաւտելոցն լինէր, յորժամ ի Թաբաւրական լերինն զաւետեացն զերանութիւն տայր, եւ կամ յորժամ ի նմին լերինն զկանոնական աղաւթսն առնէր, մինչ դեռ աշակերտքն ի Տիբերական ծովուն նաւէին:	24:4 He often took his pupils aside and in his perfect person served as example to those who lacked perfection - as when on Mount Tabor he gave his blessed message [cf. Matt. 5.1-11; Lk. 6.20-49], or when on the same mountain he made the canonical prayer while the disciples were sailing on Lake Tiberias:
24:5 Եւ դարձեալ՝ յաւուրս բաղարջակերացն յաւրինական տաւնին զգիշերոյն աղաւթս երիցս անգամ ի Ձիթաստանեաց լերինն առանձինն մատուցանէր:	24:5 Again, in the days of unleavened bread on the legal festival he made the evening prayer three times on the Mount of Olives alone:
24:6 Ուստի եւ յայտ իսկ է եւ առանց վեհերելոյ, եթէ ոչ վասն անձին ամենատէրն, այլ համաշխարհի յուսումն զայն գործէր, որ է աւրինակ ամենայն հնազանդելոց. վասն որոյ եւ ասէրն իսկ, թէ Արթուն կացէք, յաղաւթս կացէք, զի մի՛ մտանիցէք ի փորձութիւն:	24:6 So, it is undoubtedly obvious that the Lord of all did this not for himself but to teach the whole world as an example to all the obedient. Therefore, he note: “Be awake and pray, lest you enter into temptation:
24:7 Իսկ արդ՝ եթէ թեթեւագոյն արուեստից պակասագոյն ի գիտութենէ են ազգք երկրածնաց, ո՞րչափ այնմ արուեստի ոք համարիցի անգիտանալ, որ ընդ աստուածախաւսսն կատարի, որում երանելին Պաւղոս ամենեցուն տգիտանալ ասէ. վասն որոյ եւ զամենակեցոյց Հոգին ի թիկունս հասանել անմռունչ հեծութեամբ բարեխաւս գիտէ:	24:7 Now if earth-born races lack the knowledge of the lightest skills, how much would one be considered ignorant of that skill which is only fulfilled among those who speak with God, of which blessed Paul says all are ignorant [cf. I Cor. 14.36-8]? Therefore, he knows that the all-vivifying Spirit comes to our support as intercessor through our inarticulate groaning:
24:8 Իսկ արդ՝ յորժամ լսիցեմք, եթէ Սկսաւ Յիսուս առնել եւ ուսուցանել՝ ապաքէն առնել՝ զի ուսուսցէ, եւ ոչ եթէ զի պարգեւեսցի, իմանալի է. եւ բարեխաւսելն նորա վասն սրբոց, եւ բարեխաւսել Հոգւոյն սրբոյ՝ առ ի վարդապետելոյ մեզ, զի ընդ միմեանց բարեխաւսիցեմք. եւ ոչ եթէ առ բարձրագոյն ոք Միածնին կամ Հոգւոյն սրբոյ բարեխաւսելն գիտելի է. քանզի միապատիւ է աստուածականն, եւ ոչ բազմաբար:	24:8 Now when we hear that “Jesus began to do and to teach” [Acts 1.1], then “to do” must be understood that he so acted in order to teach and not that he might be rewarded. And his intercession was for the saints, while the intercession of the holy Spirit is to instruct us that we intercede for each other; and the intercession of the Only-begotten or of the holy Spirit is not to be understood as being directed to some higher person, because the divine is one in honor and not multiple:
24:9 Իսկ երանելի առաքելոցն ընկալեալ ի վարդապետութենէ ճշմարտութեանն՝ նախ կարաւտական անձանց աւգուտ մատակարարէին, եւ ապա աւրինակ աշակերտելոցն բարձեալ տանէին. երբեմն առանձինն, եւ երբեմն ժողովովք գումարելովք՝ զփառսն Քրիստոսի առաւելովքն բարձրացուցանէին:	24:9 But the holy apostles received from the teaching of the truth, and first they provided profit for their own weak selves, and then they provided an example to the disciples; sometimes alone and sometimes gathered in groups they exalted the glory of Christ:
24:10 Քանզի առաւել աւգտակար իսկ է յամենայն աշխարհակիր զբաւսանաց առանձինն սահմանել, եւ միայն աստուածպաշտութեան պարապել:	24:10 For it is more profitable to separate oneself from all worldly distractions and concern oneself solely with the service of God:
24:11 Զոր եւ մարգարէքն յառաջագոյն գործէին, որք ի լերինս եւ յանապատս, յայրս եւ ի փապարս վիմաց զաստուածեղէն կրաւնիցն զծառայութիւն հարկանէին:	24:11 This the prophets did in the past, who in the mountains and deserts, in grottoes and caves in the rock [cf. Heb. 11.38] pursued the service of divine religion:
24:12 Նոյնպէս եւ ամենայն հարքն որ յաջորդեցան, յառաքելական կանոնացն կրեալ՝ ինքեանք անձամբ բերէին աւրինակ վերջնոցս:	24:12 Likewise, all the fathers who succeeded them, guided by the apostolic canons, themselves bore the example of their predecessors:
24:13 Ուստի եւ երանելիս այս բարձեալ տանէր զաւանդելոցն պատիւ, եւ ամենայն մատուցելոց առ նա զնոյն պատուիրեալ գուշակէր:	24:13 So, this blessed saint also bore the honor of these traditions and enjoined the same honor to all who approached him:
24:14 Եւ այնպէս յառաջ, ամենայն աստուածեղէն գանձուցն վայելչութեամբք լցեալ պարարտացուցեալ ամեթութեամբք զամենեսեան՝ խաղացեալ գայր ի բազում ժամանակս, եւ նովին ի նոյն կանխեալ եւ ի նմին հանապազորդեալ:	24:14 Proceeding thus he filled, comforted and fortified everyone in the enjoyment of all the divine treasure. And on many occasions, he was prompt in performing such tasks and continued to persevere therein:
