1:0 ԴԱՐՁ ՓՐԿՈՒԹԵԱՆ ԱՇԽԱՐՀԻՍ ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆ ԸՆԴ ՁԵՌՆ ԱՌՆ ՍՐԲՈՅ ՆԱՀԱՏԱԿԻ:

 1:0 THE CONVERSION TO SALVATION OF THIS LAND OF ARMENIA THROUGH THE HOLY MARTYR:

1:1 Արդ՝ եկա՛յք, եղբա՛րք, զաւգուտն վասն հասարակաց շինութեան փութացուսցուք. զի եւ ի ձէնջ պատուհասքդ վերասցին, եւ լիցի ի խռովութենէդ հասելոյ վաղվաղակի խաղաղութիւն, եւ ի գերեալ մոլորութեանցդ՝ դարձ փրկութեան:

 1:1 So, come, brethren, let us concern ourselves with our common profit and advantage, that your punishments may be removed from you, that peace may straightaway replace the trouble that has fallen upon you, and that you may gain conversion to salvation from the errors to which you were prisoners:

1:2 Այլ ես զամենայն պատգամս Աստուածութեանն կարգեցի եւ եդի ի լսելիս ձեր առ հասարակ, ոչ թաքուցեալ զաւգուտն. ի սկզբանցն մինչեւ ի վախճան՝ զամենայն պատմեցաք ձեզ:

 1:2 I have set out in order for your ears all the sayings of the Godhead, hiding nothing profitable. From the beginning to the very end I have told you everything:

1:3 Արդ՝ եկա՛յք ամփոփեսցուք զգանձն Աստուածութեան, զի յայնմանէ պարգեւեսցի ձեզ բժշկութիւն ամենեցուն:

 1:3 So, come, let us grasp the treasure of the Godhead, that therefrom you may all be given healing:

1:4 Մատուսցո՛ւք զդոսա ի հանգիստ, եւ շինեսցուք վկայարանս ի վերայ դոցա, տաճարս աղաւթից միաբանութեան, հանապազորդ խնդրել յԱստուծոյ նախ՝ զհաշտութիւն եւ զխաղաղութիւն աշխարհի եւ զողորմութիւն հաւատովք, յուսով եւ սիրով, եւ ընդ նմին զկեանս եւ զարքայութիւն Աստուծոյ:

 1:4 Let us put these martyrs to rest and build chapels over them, temples of united prayer, to seek continually from God, first, reconciliation and peace for the world and mercy with faith, hope and love, and also life and the kingdom of God:

1:5 Զի եւ դուք ազատեսջիք ի ծառայութեանց անձնակամութեան գործոցն խաւարի, եւ զփառս լուսեղէնս Աստուածութեանն ըմբռնեսջիք, աղաւթիւք եւ բարեխաւսութեամբ սոցա առ Աստուած. զի եւ սոքա հանգուսցեն զանձինս ձեր ի տանջանաց պատուհասիցդ եկելոց, եւ սոքաւք հաշտեսջիք ընդ Աստուծոյ:

 1:5 that by their prayer and intercession to God you may be freed from willing servitude to deeds of darkness and gain the glorious light of the Godhead; that they may give your souls rest from the torments that have come upon you as punishment, and through them you may be reconciled with God:

1:6 Զի Աստուածութիւնն, որ բնակեալն է ի սոսա՝ գթասցի ի ձեզ ձերովն ապաշխարութեամբ, խոստովանութեամբ, խոնարհութեամբ, հնազանդութեանն հաւատոց, եւ կրաւնաւորեալ ձեզ պահովք, տնկել ի սիրտս եւ առնուլ ի միտ՝ սփռել զկամացն խորհուրդս, եւ արժանի լինել լուացման մկրտութեանն սրբութեան, եւ սրբոցդ մասին ժառանգութեան՝ լուսոյ վիճակին հասանել եւ պարծանաց խաչին, որ կորուսելոցն յիմարութիւն է, եւ ձեզ որ գտայքդ՝ իմաստութիւն եւ զաւրութիւն եւ փրկութիւն Աստուծոյ:

 1:6 For the Godhead who dwells in them will have pity on you through their repentance, confession, humility and obedient faith. Thus through abstemious fasting you may implant in your hearts and grasp in your minds the fear of God, cast off the thoughts of your own minds, become worthy of the bath of holy baptism and attain the portion of the inheritance of those saints, the grace of light and the glory of the cross, ’which to the lost is foolishness, but to you who have been found is God’s wisdom and power and salvation’:

1:7 Զորս որդեգրութեան արժանիս արասցէ Աստուածութեանն, ջնջել զմեղս ձեր եւ թողուլ զպարտիս ձեր, եւ ընդունել զմասն պսակի սրբոցս որ ձեզս են:

 1:7 He will make you worthy of divine adoption, wash away your sins and forgive your debts, and grant you a share of the crown of these saints who are among you:

1:8 Զի եւ դուք լիջիք փառաւորիչք Աստուածութեան, դասուց փառաւորչացն հաղորդեալք ի կցորդութիւն աւրհնութեամբ Հոգւոյն սրբոյ, եւ արժանի լիջիք դուք զխորհուրդն Աստուածութեանն առնուլ:

 1:8 that you may become praisers of the Godhead, sharing in the ranks of praisers by the blessing of the holy Spirit, and that you may become worthy of receiving the mystery of the Godhead:

1:9 Զի լուացեալ իցէք յաղտոյն սատանայի, եւ նա ձերոց ոտիցն գարշապարաց կոխան լիցի:

 1:9 that you may be cleansed from the stain of Satan and he be trodden under your feet:

1:10 Եւ դուք մտեալք եւ հաղորդեալք իցէք ի հարսանիս Աստուածութեան սիրոյն, ուտել զմիս ճշմարիտ գառին Որդւոյն Աստուծոյ, եւ ըմպել զարիւն նորա:

 1:10 that you may enter and share in the wedding feast of the divine love, eat the flesh of the true lamb, the Son of God, and drink his blood:

1:11 Եւ կցորդ իցէք չարչարանացն Աստուծոյ, եւ հաղորդ փառացն, եւ լինիջիք ի մի ոգի եւ ի նա կցորդիցիք մարմնով եւ արեամբ նորա:

 1:11 and that you may become partakers in the torments of God, and share his glory [cf. Rom. 8.17], and become one spirit and sharers with him through his body and blood:

1:12 Եւ վկայքս այս լինիցին ձեզ ողորմութեամբ նորա բերդ ամուր եւ աշտարակ հզաւր ամրութեան եւ վերակացուք բարեխաւսութեամբ, հեղմամբ արեանն քաջացեալք, նահատակութեամբն իւրեանց զձեզ առեալ առ Աստուած մատուցանիցեն. որ շահեալք զձեզ՝ զիւրեանց նահատակութեանն մարտին ցուցին ձեզ զյաղթող զաւրութիւնն:

 1:12 And these martyrs through his mercy will be for you a strong fortress and mighty tower [cf. Ps. 60.4], your advocates by intercession, your strengthened by the shedding of their blood, and by their martyrdom they will bring you near to God. They will bring you profit and show you the victorious power of their heroic struggle:

1:13 Եւ զի այսաւր ընդ երեկս է՝ երթա՛յք ի հանգիստ քնոյ, խաղաղութեամբ ննջեցէք. եւ ի վաղուէ հետէ փոյթ լիցի ձեզ շինել զյարկս հանգստոցաց:

 1:13 And because it is now evening, go and rest and sleep in peace. In the morning you must make haste to build sanctuaries:

1:14 Զի սոքա փոխարէն ընդ հողեղէն յարկացն զոր սոցայն շինիցէք աստ՝ պատրաստեսցեն ձեզ յարկս լուսեղէնս յարքայութեանն երկնից. որում ակն ունիմք հասանել բարեխաւսութեամբ սրբոցս, ի նոյն ժողով միաբանութեան յարքայութեանն Քրիստոսի:

 1:14 that they, in place of the earthly habitations which you built for them here, may prepare for you habitations of light in the kingdom of heaven. And by the intercession of these saints we hope to attain the same united gathering in the kingdom of Christ:

1:15 Զի նորա են փառք եւ զաւրութիւն եւ պատիւ յաւիտեանս յաւիտենից. ամէն:

 1:15 For his are glory and power and honor for ever and ever. Amen:
