24:0 Ելն Փոկասու-Վարդայ եւ ունել զթագաւորն Վարդ եւ թագաւորել ինքեան:	24:0 Bardas Phokas comes out, takes the king and proclaims himself king:
24:1 Իսկ Վարդ, որ եւ Փոկաս, հրամանաւ Վասլի գայ ընդդէմ նորա ի պատերազմ ամենայն զաւրաւքն Յունաց եւ Վրաց:	24:1 Bardas, aka Phokas, on the orders of Basil, went to war against him (Bardas Skleros) at the head of all the Greek and Iberian troops:
24:2 Եւ բանս պատրողականս առաքէ առ նա ի ձեռն հրեշտակաց իւրոց ասելով, եթէ “Ե՛կ զի խաղաղութիւն արասցուք առ միմեանս եւ ի միջի մերում բաժանեսցուք զաշխարհս Յունաց՝ բառնալով զթագաւորութիւն Վասլի:	24:2 He sent ambassadors to the latter with the (following) deceitful offer: “come (to me), we will make peace and divide Greece among ourselves, destroying the dominion of Basil:
24:3 Որում հաւանեալ թագաւորն Վարդ՝ արձակեալ յինքենէ զզաւրսն Տաճկաց. եւ ի հանդիպելն միմեանց՝ Վարդ, որ եւ Փոկաս, ստեալ երդմանն իւրոյ, յետ աւուրց եւթանց կալանաւոր արարեալ զՍիկլառոսն Վարդ՝ զինակիր պատրաստութեամբ հրամայէ տանել ի բերդն Ժեռաւս:	24:3 King Bardas agreed to this and released the Arab troops that were with him. But when they met each other, Bardas, aka Phokas, betraying his oath, after seven days, grabbed Bardas Skleros and ordered him to be taken to the fortress of Geravs with an armed escort:
24:4 Իսկ տաճիկ զաւրն, որ արձակեալ էին ի Սիկլառոսէն, երթեալ ի բնակութիւնս իւրեանց. եւ յորժամ լուան զհամբաւ ունելոյ Սիկլառոսին ի հարաւ քաղաքի գերեն առիւ ի հարաւոյ մինչեւ յԱպահունիս:	24:4 Meanwhile, the Arab troops, released by Skleros and barely reaching their place of residence, when they heard the news of the imprisonment of Skleros in the city of Zeravs, began to raid, (starting) from the south to the Apahunik district:
24:5 Եւ Վարդն, որ եւ Փոկաս, ի [ՆԼԵ] թուականին թագաւոր բռնակալ եղեալ՝ ճակատս տալով ընդ թագաւորական քաղաքին Կոստանդնուպոլսի հանդերձ ամենայն Յունաց եւ Վրաց զաւրուն ամս երկու:	24:5 Bardas, also known as Phocas, having set aside in [435=986], began a war at the head of the Greek and Iberian troops against the royal city of Constantinople, (which lasted) two years:
24:6 Որ եւ ընդդէմ թագաւորական քաղաքին ամրոց շինեալ՝ եւ զՏլփինաս մաժիստռոս հանդերձ զաւրականաւք պահապան կացուցանէ, զի մի՛ ել լիցի ի քաղաքէն կամ մուտ արտաքնոցն:	24:6 Opposite the royal city, he built a fortress, appointing Delphinas as magistros in it, giving him a guard army and ordering him not to let anyone out of the city, let in any of the outsiders below:
24:7 Այլ պահապան նաւահանգստին ուխտ խաղաղութեան առ թագաւորն Վասիլ հաստատեալ՝ զամենայն զաւրս քաղաքին եւ որ ինչ արեւմտեայ կողմանցն՝ ի միում գիշերի յայսկոյս անցուցանէր, որք ելեալ ըստ թիկանցն կողմանէ ամրոցին՝ ղաւղեալ թաքչէին:	24:7 But the head of the (Constantinople) harbor, having concluded a peace treaty with King Basil, at night transferred to the opposite shore all the troops (that were) in the city, as well as the troops of Western countries. They went around the fortress from behind and sat in ambush:
24:8 Իսկ ըստ քաղաքին կողմանէ յառաւաւտանալ ժամուն նաւս պատերազմականս պատրաստեալ մոմեղինաւք՝ գալ ընդդէմ ամրոցին. որոց տեսեալ որք յամրոցին՝ ելանէին ի պատերազմ ընդդէմ նոցա:	24:8 Meanwhile, at dawn, from the side of the city, warships with torches moved to the fortress. The fortress troops, seeing this, went out to fight against them:
24:9 Իսկ ղաւղեալ զաւրն ի թիկանց կողմանէ յարուցեալք ի վերայ՝ սրախողխող եւ ծովընկէց առնելով զզաւրսն Տլփինասայ՝ ձերբակալ արարին եւ զՏլփինաս՝ գլուխ զաւրուն, զոր յանդիման արարին Վասլի թագաւորին. եւ դատապարտեցաւ ի փայտ ելանել: Այս եղեւ ի [ՆԼԷ] թուականին:	24:9 Then those who were sitting in ambush behind the fortress went to them and delivered part of the army of Delphinas to the sword, and drove the other into the sea; Delphinas himself, having been taken prisoner, was presented to King Basil, who sentenced him to the gallows.
