9:0 Յաղագս Բակուրայ բդեշխի, որ ապստամբեաց յարքայէն Հայոց. եւ թէ զիա՛րդ սատակեցաւ ի զօրացն Հայոց, եւ փոխանակ նորա լինէր բդեշխ Վաղինակ Սիւնի:

 9:0 How the bdesh Bakur rebelled against the king of Armenia, how he was killed by the Armenian troops, and how Vaghinak Siwni became bdesh in his stead:

9:1 Զայնու ժամանակաւ ապստամբեաց յարքայէն Հայոց մի ի ծառայից մեծ իշխանն Աղձնեաց, որ անուանեալ կոչէր բդեաշխն. որ էր մի ի չորից, գահերէց բարձերէց տաճարին արքունի:

 9:1 In that period there rebelled from the king of Armenia one of his servants, the great prince of Aghjnik’ who was called the bdeashx, an individual who occupied one of the four senior [gahs] (“thrones,” “stations,” “cushions”) in the royal chamber:

9:2 Ետ ձեռս յարքայն Պարսից, եւ մատնեաց զարքունի տունն, որ յեց յինքն էր:

 9:2 He extended his hand in alliance to the king of Iran and betrayed the royal tun which he himself had supported:

9:3 Եւ էած զօրս արքային Պարսից ի թիկունս իւր, եւ հատաւ յերկրէն յիշխանութենէն Հայոց, եւ տայր պատերազմ ընդ արքային Հայոց` ուժով Պարսից թագաւորութեանն. եւ սաստկանայր մարտ պատերազմին:

 9:3 The king of Iran sent troops to support him and Aghjnik was separated from the authority of Armenia. He warred with the king of Armenia with the power of the kingdom of Iran. The war became more intense:

9:4 Ապա առաքէր թագաւորն Հայոց զբարեկիր զծառայս իւր, զիշխանն Կորդուաց զՋոնն, եւ զիշխանն մեծի Ծոփաց զՄար, եւ զիշխանն Ծոփաց Շահէի Ներսեհ, եւ զիշխանն Սիւնեաց զՎաղինակ, եւ զիշխանն Հաշտենից զԴատ, եւ զիշխանն Բասենոյ զՄանակ, հանդերձ բազում զօրօք:

 9:4 Then the king of Armenia sent the following of his honest servants with many troops against the enemy: the prince of Korduk’, John, the prince of Greater Copk, Mar, the prince of Shahei Copk, Nerseh, the prince of Siwnik’, Vaghinak, the prince of Hashtenk’, Dat, and the prince of Basen, Manak:

9:5 Ապա չոգան յաղթեցին զօրացն Պարսից, եւ առ հասարակ ընդ սուր հանին զամենայն. եւ սպանին զբդեաշխն, եղբարբք եւ որդւովք իւրովք հանդերձ:

 9:5 They went and conquered the Iranian troops, putting them all to the sword, and killing the bdeashx with his brothers and sons:

9:6 Բայց զաղջիկ մի զդուստր նորածին, եւ զգլուխն Բակուր բդեշխին բերին առ արքայ:

 9:6 But they brought to the king the head of Bakur the bdeashx and one of his newborn daughters:

9:7 Եւ իբրեւ այլ ոք ոչ էր մնացեալ յազգէն, ետ արքայ զաղջիկին կնութիւն սիրելւոյն արքայի Վաղինեկայ սիւնւոյ, եւ զտունն Աղձնեաց. եւ արար զնա բդեաշխ եւ պայազատ տան նորուն:

 9:7 Since there were no other survivors of that azg, the king gave the girl in marriage to his favorite Vaghinak Siwnik’, and also gave him the tun of Aghjnik’ making him bdeashx and inheritor of Bakur’s tun:

9:8 Ժառանգն բազմացաւ, եւ հանդերձ աշխարհաւն եւ ամենայն ուժովն կայր բդեաշխն Վաղինակ ի ծառայութեան արքային հանապազ:

 9:8 The heir increased and the bdeashx Vaghinak remained in service to the king constantly with the land and all its might:

9:9 Բայց յորդւոցն Բակուր բդեշխի պատանեակ մի փախեաւ անկաւ առ զօրավարն Հայոց Վաչէ, եւ անդ ապրեցաւ թագուցեալ ի տան նորա:

 9:9 However, a certain small son of Bakur the bdeashx fled and landed by Vach’e, the general of Armenia, where he was concealed and spared in his tun:

9:10 Որ առ յապա ժառանգ տան նորա լինէր: Որ յայլում ժամանակի դարձաւ կալաւ զտունն իւր, որոյ անուն Խեշա կոչէր:

 9:10 Subsequently the child returned and seized his own tun. His name was Xesha:
