1:0 Յաղագս թէ ո՛րպէս յետ բազում շփոթի պատերազմացն Ներսեհ արքայն Պարսից թէ ո՛րպէս թագաւորեցոյց զԱրշակ զորդի Տիրանայ, եւ արձակեաց յաշխարհն Հայոց հանդերձ Տիրանաւ հարբ իւրով եւ ամենայն գերութեամբն հանդերձ:

 1:0 How after many calamities in battle king Nerseh of Persia enthroned Tiran’s son Arshak, returning him to the land of the Armenians with his father and all the captives:

1:1 Այլ իբրեւ եղեւ հաճութիւն եւ բազում խաղաղութիւն ի մէջ թագաւորին Յունաց եւ Ներսեհի արքային Պարսից, հաւանեցան մեծաւ սիրով առնել զկամս միմեանց. եւ դարձուցանէր կայսրն Յունաց զգերութիւն արքային Պարսից:

 1:1 When there was agreement and great peace between the king of Byzantium and the king of Iran, Nerseh, with the two of them affectionately implementing the desires of the other, the emperor of Byzantium returned the captives of the king of Iran:

1:2 Ապա եւ թագաւորն Պարսից Ներսեհ թագաւորեցոյց զԱրշակ որդի Տիրանայ, եւ հարբ նորին եւ հանդերձ կանամբք իւրեանց եւ ամենայն գերութեամբ հանդերձ եւ գանձիւք իւրեանց եւ ստացուածովք արձակեաց մեծաւ փառօք:

 1:2 And Nerseh, king of Iran, enthroned Tiran’s son, Arshak, and sent him, his father, their women, all the captives, their treasures and belongings back to Armenia with great glory:

1:3 Խաղաց գնաց Արշակ արքայ Հայոց մեծաց, թագաւորեաց յերկրին ասորեստանեայց հանդերձ հարբն իւրով եւ ամենայն ընտանեօքն իւրովք, եկն եհաս յերկիրն Հայոց, եւ ժողովեաց զցրուեալս երկրին, եւ թագաւորեաց ի վերայ նոցա:

 1:3 Arshak, king of Greater Armenia, having become king in the country of Asorestan, came and reached the country of Armenia together with his father and entire family. He assembled the dispersed folk of the country and reigned over them:

1:4 Եւ եղեւ խաղաղութիւն մեծ ի ժամանակին յայնմիկ:

 1:4 There was great peace in that time:

1:5 Ժողովեցան ամենայն թագուցեալքն փախուցեալք կորուսեալք երկրին Հայոց. եւ էին անկասկածք բնակեալ ի խաղաղութեան մեծի ընդ հովանեաւ արքային Արշակայ:

 1:5 All the concealed, the fugitives and the missing of the country of Armenia assembled, and dwelled in great peace without suspicion under the protection of king Arshak:

1:6 Ապա կարգեցան կազմեցան յօրինեցան խաղաղացան աշխարհն Հայոց ի մէջ երկուց թագաւորացն. եւ յայնմ հետէ բնակեալք խաղաղութեամբ վայելեալք յիւրաքանչիւր յարարս իւրեանց:

 1:6 Then the people of the land of Armenia were ordered, organized and at peace between the two kings, and thereafter each person dwelled in peace enjoying his own creations:
